FIFA World Cup 2018 Venues - Stadiums Details

The 21st tournament of the football world is going to take place in Russia in which 32 teams are going to participate. 31 teams have qualified for the world cup while Russia will play the tournament as they are the host country.

64 matches are going to be played totally in the tournament in 12 stadiums located in 11 different cities.

Samara, Saransk
Sochi, Volgograd

All these cities are located close to each other so thet the fans will not have to travel so far to watch the game of their country.

Russia is going to play the 1st match of the tournament as they are the host country in Luzhniki stadium taht is situated in russian capital Moscow on the 14th of june 2018.

4 teams are arranged in each group and top 2 of them will qualify for the next round automatically. If two teams have equal points then the team with more goal difference will go through to the next round.

From 30th of june, the round of 16 will start. The first match will be played in sochi. Then the other matches will be played in Kazan, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Saint Petersburg and then moscow again.

Quarter finals will be played on 6th july and 7th july in Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Sochi and Samara respectively.

Then semi finals will be played on 10th july and 11th july in Saint Petersburg and Moscow (Luzhniki) respectively.

Then comes the final day of the tournament that will decide the fate of two nations. One will be remembered as world champion and other will be remembered as a loser on that day. That match will be played on 15th of July in Moscow in Luzhniki stadium.
